New Year Intentions: Real Goals, Not Resolutions

An invitation to move with intention this year.

Happy New Year, dear community ✨

I hope the start of this year has met you gently, whether it’s felt energizing, quiet, or somewhere in between.

As the new year begins, we’re often surrounded by messages encouraging us to start over, do more, be better, push harder.
While a fresh calendar can feel motivating, it can also quietly create pressure. And with this, we often don’t know where to start.

I like to offer a different approach:

Instead of “New Year resolutions,” I invite you into realistic goal setting: goals that respect where you are right now, your energy levels, your schedule, and the season of life you’re in.

Realistic goals:

  • Meet you where you are, not where you think you should be

  • Are flexible rather than rigid

  • Focus on consistency over intensity

  • Leave room for recovery, rest, and real life

Progress doesn’t require perfection.
It grows through honest check-ins, patience, and small, aligned steps.

Rather than asking:

“What do I need to fix this year?”

Try asking:

  • What feels supportive right now?

  • What habit would genuinely make my days feel better?

  • What is one thing I can commit to consistently, even on busy weeks?

For some of us, this may look like moving the body 2–3 times per week instead of 5.
For others, it may mean shifting the focus toward mobility, breathwork, and recovery especially if life already feels full.

To support this intention, I’ll be offering a weekly Zoom session focused on deep stretching and conscious breathing.
These sessions are designed to help you:

  • Release physical tension

  • Support recovery from training or daily stress

  • Improve mobility and nervous system regulation

  • Create dedicated space to slow down and reset

This is a beautiful option if you’re looking to add recovery time into your week without adding pressure.

👉 If you’d like to join the Zoom recovery sessions, reply to this email or send me a message, and I’ll share the details and schedule.

Here’s to a year of realistic goals, intentional movement, and caring for the body you’re living in today.

Sessions begin the week of January 20. I’d love to welcome you into that space!

With Gratitude,
Marcela
